"Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood." - Acts 20:28 ESV

Small Groups
Westside believes that a small group provides the optimal environment for the life change Jesus Christ intends for every believer. Significant relationships (including one-to-one) occur best in the context of a small group. A small group of believers who love one another with God's love will experience the life Christ promised at the deepest level possible. This love radically transforms them and demonstrates His power.
Evangelism is also best done in small groups. Mobilizing a whole army of lay ministers, an outlet for evangelism is expanded and is done on a friendship base. The Christian life is lived out in the small group. The gospel becomes WYSIWYG, which eliminates the fear of going to some mysterious church meetings for the non-believers.
In a small group, one can expect genuine and authentic Christian life. A variety of small groups are designed to meet the individual needs of believers, as well as the diverse needs of the body as a whole. In small groups, if one can open up oneself, one can experience:
-
Loving one another: caring for each other, community building and sharing
-
Loving God: Bible study, prayer, worship and growth in Christ's likeness
-
Loving others: evangelism, mission, service to the church and making a contribution in any group
A group that by design does not contribute to the above goals of spiritual maturity may well be a collection of Christians, but is not a successful small group.

Youth Ministries: GZone and Adiel
Our youth ministries are centred on five core pillars: fellowship, discipleship, serving, witnessing, and spirituality. These principles guide our efforts to nurture young people in their faith and personal growth journey.
GZone: Guiding Youth Toward Independence
Audience: Grade 7–10 English-speaking youth
Location: Westside Baptist Church
Meeting Time: Fridays, 7:30–9:00 pm (Youth are welcome to hang out until 10:00 pm)
GZone focuses on reaching out to youth beginning to explore the world and seeking independence from parental guidance. This ministry provides a safe and supportive space where young people can navigate these formative years with the guiding principles of the Bible. We aim to equip them to break free from self-doubts, discover their identity in Christ, and cultivate authentic relationships with God and others. Through GZone, youth can experience the joy of fellowship, spiritual growth, and walking through adolescence with the companionship of Jesus Christ and His followers.
Adiel: Supporting Youth in Transition
Audience: Grade 10–University Cantonese-speaking youth
Location: Westside Baptist Church
Meeting Time: Fridays, 7:30–9:00 pm (Youth are welcome to hang out until 10:00 pm)
Adiel is designed for youth in transitional stages of life, particularly those searching for direction and purpose. Many participants are recent immigrants from Hong Kong who are adjusting to a new culture while cherishing their heritage. This ministry provides a community where young people can explore their faith, find support from peers and mentors, and navigate this crucial life stage with God’s Word as their foundation. Adiel seeks to empower youth to pursue genuine relationships and a meaningful connection with God and others.
Our Mission
We believe that with the Bible as their guiding principle, young people can break free from oppositional confines, embrace their unique purpose, and build authentic relationships with God and the people around them. Both GZone and Adiel strive to create environments where youth can grow in faith, serve others, and witness the transforming power of Christ in their lives.
Join us Friday evening for an engaging and meaningful fellowship and growth! (Please contact Pastor Patrick at patrick@westsidebaptist.ca for more details)
