The new Christian Education program will begin today. Topic: Practicing the Way (8 Sessions). Date: September 8 - October 27 on Sundays 10:45 am- 12:00pm in Room E.
The “Active in Mission” fundraiser has received $9,103 in pledges as of August 31. Thank you all for their participation and donations. Donation details has been emailed to all donors. Please contact the office if you have not received the email. The goal record will be shared with the donors by the end of this month.
The church will be launching a new session of “Westside 101” in Fall. All brothers and sisters who wish to become members by baptism or transferring in must first attend this course. We will discuss with all participants to determine the exact class dates and times, which will include approximately five 90-minute sessions. If you would like to join Westside Baptist Church as a member, please register at universe.com/westside. The registration deadline for this session is September 15.
A transfer of membership ceremony will be held today at Cantonese worship service. The seven new members are: Sam Chan, Grace Chow, Alex Chau, Shirley Lo, Louis Leung, Doris Tsang and Keith Li. Their descriptions have been posted on the bulletin board.
Join us at WBC for the Thanksgiving Table, a special initiative designed to bring our growing congregation closer together. Participants will be randomly assigned to a few meal partners and asked to organize a meal within two weeks before or after Thanksgiving. Register now to reserve your spot at the Thanksgiving Table!
Salvation Army Food Bank Volunteer Recruitment. Starting in September, every Thursday morning. Approximately from 8 am to 12 noon, the Salvation Army is looking to recruit volunteers to help distribute food to families in need. Location: 3213 Fraser St. Interested brothers and sisters, please contact Tommy or the office to sign up.
The church and Canadian Blood Services will hold a blood donation event at the blood donation center at 4750 Oak St on September 28 at 1:00 pm. Brothers and sisters are encouraged to register online. For details, please refer to the bulletin board or contact Jessica Ho.
