Scripture Reading Plan

  • Beginning in Acts 20:13, Paul’s ministry shifted from journeys of freedom to a mission carried out in chains. Fully aware that imprisonment and suffering awaited him in Jerusalem, he still chose to follow the Spirit’s leading, because he treasured the fulfillment of the Lord’s calling above his own safety. Before departing, the elders of Ephesus wept as they sent him off, while Paul urged them to remain faithful in shepherding God’s flock.

  • Upon his arrival in Jerusalem, Paul was falsely accused in the temple, sparking a riot, and had to be rescued by Roman soldiers. Yet he boldly continued to testify to the risen Christ before the crowds and stood unafraid before the council’s trial. When a plot by the Jews to kill him failed, he was transferred under guard to Caesarea and kept in custody.

  • Whether free or bound, Paul’s focus never wavered from Christ and the kingdom of God. The gospel message pierces human hearts and confronts worldly powers, demonstrating that the word of God cannot be hindered.

Announcements

  • WBC 101 will begin at the end of September. Those who wish to be baptized or transfer membership during this Christmas season and become members of Westside are welcome to join. The course dates are September 28, October 12, October 19, November 30, and December 7, held on Sunday afternoons. Please register at universe.com/westside.

  • New members who will be baptized on September 13 and 14 are Candy Mak, Hannah Chan, Ellen Yan, and Emma Yan. Members transferring in are Christopher Chung, Tinnie Chung, Candy Ling, and Priscilla Wong. Their profiles have been posted on the bulletin board near the elevator.

  • Monthly bulletin has been posted on the bulletin board and the church website. Please refer to it for important notices.

  • The Deacon election will be held on November 23, 2025.

  • The church will organize a fall cleaning event and invite help from small groups.

  • The church will recruit a tech team for website upgrades and maintenance. Members who have the expertise are welcome to contact Pastor Mark or Deacon Michael Chau.
