Fellowship Life

  • Westside 101 is a course designed for anyone who wishes to join us as a member through baptism or transfer of membership. It consists of approximately five 90-minute classes. Please register at universe.com/westside

Scripture Reading Plan

  • This week the Scripture guide us through the rich theology and pastoral wisdom of the General Epistles. First John calls believers to behold the incarnate Word, walk in light, reject sin, love one another, and stand firm in true faith. Second and Third John emphasize truth, love, hospitality, and discernment. Jude urges believers to contend for the faith amid deception, trusting God’s keeping power. James opens with a call to steadfastness, wisdom, and wholehearted loyalty to God. Together, these passages invite us to authentic discipleship shaped by truth, love, and holy perseverance.

  • The Salvation Army Christmas Toy Store | Volunteer Recruitment

    • Nov 17–21: Assist with moving, setup, and organizing supplies.

    • Nov 24–Dec 19: During operation, help restock or serve at the front desk every Tuesday morning, 9:00–12:30.

    • Location: Basement of Vancouver First Church of the Nazarene (998 E 19th Ave).

    • Even if you can only join for one day, you are warmly welcome. To sign up, please contact Tommy or Pastor Patrick.

  •  MOFP Dry Food Collection & Hamper Delivery | Volunteer Recruitment

    • Throughout November, we will collect non-perishable food items to support the Marpole Cares Christmas Hamper Program, bringing food and hope to families in need. Volunteers are also welcome to help with hamper delivery.

    • Delivery time: Weekday evenings, around 4:00–6:00 PM (dates depend on donation progress; typically announced one week in advance, expected to finish by mid-December).

  • Christmas Events

    • December 24 Candlelight Service – Volunteers for Music Ministry are now being recruited. Please contact Pastor Mark Wong.

    • Christmas Market – December 14 2:00 - 8:00pm. Join us for a festive day of live music, crafts, refreshments & shopping with local vendors! Please invite friends and family to this joyful event!

    • Clothing Drive (Collection dates: Saturdays and Sundays, December 13–28)

    • Supporting the charity Belkin Communities of Hope.

  • 2026–2028 Deacon Election

    • This year’s deacon election will be conducted via Election Buddy. Members should have received an email from the church confirming their email address. If you haven’t received the email, please contact the church office.

    • Deacon candidate Carson Lai is a Computer Engineer. He has been serving as a deacon from 2023 to 2025. In addition to his deacon duties, he currently leads the Praise Team in the English Ministry, coaches youth fellowship, leads small groups, and serves as an offering counter. Carson received Christ in 2007 and was baptized at Westside in 2008. His parents, Hugo and Lorinda Lai, are also members of Westside.

    • The deaconship election will be held on November 22 +23
